Tennie Hall Obituary, Much-Loved Resident Of Eden Peacefully Passed Away

Tennie Hall Obituary, Death- Eden resident Tennie McGuire Hall, 80, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2023, at her home. The daughter of Walter and Callie McGuire, she entered the world on December 15, 1942. At the beginning of her eternal journey, Tennie was encircled by her loved ones. Walter and Callie McGuire, two of Tennie’s brothers, James and Calvin, and two of her sisters, Nancy Ward and Becky King, along with her grandson, Drayven Hall, all predeceased Tennie. Tennie’s love and strength never wavered, even after all she had lost.

Tennie was an indispensable component of her church family at Spray Baptist Church in Eden. Before leaving, she taught Sunday School to kids aged four and five and sang in the church choir for nearly twenty-five years at Pleasant Garden Baptist. Tennie graduated from Morehead High School in the class of 1961 and went on to get an associate’s degree in Office Systems Technology at Randolph Community College. After many productive years at Rochester Midland Corporation, she decided to call it quits and enjoy the rest of her life.

Those who knew her will carry on her legacy of faith and love. Tennie was a doting wife, doting mother, and doting grandmother, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She prayed fervently for them and set a wonderful example of Christlike service. Family gatherings, especially around the holidays, had a special place in Tennie’s heart. Her death will be deeply mourned by those who were lucky enough to have known and loved her.

After a private interment at Overlook Cemetery, there will be a memorial service for Tennie at Spray Baptist Church at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 18, 2023. Memorial contributions can be sent in place of flowers to the UNC Rockingham Foundation or the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation. Boone & Cooke, Inc.
