Stewart Slade Obituary, Valley Hockey Club Longtime Member Has Died

Stewart Slade Obituary, Death- Stewart Slade, a treasured member of the Valley community, left this world in a calm and collected manner on November 15th, 2023, when he was 89 years old. It is with heavy hearts that we announce his loss; he will be much missed. Stewart, who was more commonly referred to by his nickname Stew, leaves behind a legacy that is intricately woven into the fabric of our community. Stew was more than just a member who had been there for a long time; he was the personification of dedication and enthusiasm for the Valley.

His undying commitment to the club was illustrative of a lifetime spent loving and committing to others. Stewart, who was married to Nola, an esteemed Life Member of our Club, discussed her dedication to promoting a sense of belonging and camaraderie among the members of our Valley family. Stewart, a devoted and proud parent, will be remembered for the legacy that he leaves behind in the form of his children, former Valley players Scott Slade and Jodi Holmes. Stewart was overjoyed to see his granddaughters, Lily and Amy Holmes, proudly wear the Valley colors, continuing the Slade sports pedigree that had been passed down from generation to generation.

During this sad time, the Club would like to offer its most sincere condolences to Nola, Scott, Jodi, Lily, and Amy, as well as the entire extended Slade family. People who had the honor of knowing Stewart will always be able to recall the positive impact he made on the Valley. His legacy will live on in their hearts and minds. The memorial ceremony for Stewart is going to be a time to celebrate his life, think about the indelible impression he left on the Valley, and find comfort in the memories he shared with friends and family.

On Monday, November 27th, 2023, at 10:30 in the morning, the service will be held at the Centenary Memorial Garden Crematorium, which is located at 353 Station Road in Sumner. Everyone who knew and cared about Stewart is encouraged to come show their support for one another during this difficult time by coming together to celebrate a life well-lived and to remember Stewart’s legacy. We pray that his soul may finally rest in perfect tranquility, and that the memories of the time he spent with us will continue to encourage and raise us all.
