Seth Egelhoff Obituary, Chesterfield IL, Iowa Hunter Fatally Shot During Waterfowl Expedition

Seth Egelhoff Obituary, Death – We want to express our deepest condolences to the family and friends of Seth Egelhoff, a young man from Chesterfield, Illinois, who passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. He was 26 years old. Seth’s life was cut tragically short in the Bays Branch Wildlife Area in Guthrie County, Iowa, while he was indulging in one of his greatest passions: waterfowl hunting.

During the disastrous hunting trip that took place on a Saturday, tragedy struck when Seth received a gunshot wound to the face from one of his companions. In spite of the heroic efforts of the emergency personnel who attempted to save Seth’s life by administering lifesaving measures, it was not possible to do so. Soon after he was carried away from the site, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The legacy that Seth Egelhoff leaves behind is one that is rich with cherished memories and a passion for spending time in nature. Everyone who met him could see how much he enjoyed hunting waterfowl, and he will be remembered for the joy and camaraderie he brought to the times when people got together to enjoy the outdoors together.

The tragic circumstances surrounding this tragedy are currently the focus of an investigation being conducted by the Law Enforcement Bureau of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources. Our thoughts and condolences are with Seth’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched as we struggle to come to grips with the unexpected passing of Seth.
