Sandra Parker Obituary, Death – With great regret, we announce Sandra Parker’s demise. Sandy has been a Lake San Marcos fixture for decades and has helped the LSMCA greatly. We shall miss Sandy’s generosity, outgoing personality, and community service. Sandy’s family tribute: Celebrating Sandra Diane Parker, who died November 15, 2023, after a brief illness. Her 88th birthday was 3 months away. Everyone calls her Sandy.
Everyone loved and admired her for her professional flare and sparkling personality, which got things done. Sandy worked in several administrative fields her whole life. In the 1950s, her statuesque beauty and charisma earned her the title of Miss Zeon Neon in her first secretarial position in Los Angeles. She raised $1 million for South Coast Hospital in Laguna Beach, CA, as its Foundation Director in the 1970s.
Sandy was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on February 15, 1936, and relocated to Highland Park, California, with her parents to attend Franklin High School. She performed at weddings and high school and church choirs. She loved singing and dancing and entered talent shows and dance contests, even if her height made it hard to find a partner! She recorded in the late 1950s.
Sandy enjoyed music, movies, travel, musical theater, kittens, glamour, and champagne. Sandy served on numerous hoa boards in Lake San Marcos, California, after moving from San Clemente in the mid-1990s. Still office manager at Lake San Marcos Community Association at 87 till last month. She leaves daughters Marcia Johnson and Suzanne Sweeney, son-in-laws Bret Fitterer and Robert Sweeney, and two adored cats. Sandy was known for her gorgeous smile, elegance, charisma, and go-getter spirit.
