Samantha George Obituary, Correctional Officers Association Of Delaware Beloved Member Has Died

Samantha George Obituary, Death- Longtime member Stephen Lincoln passed away, and the whole Muddy Brook Fire Department is in grief. We are sad to share the news of the passing of a firefighter whose bravery and dedication inspired his colleagues. When Stephen found out he had polio at the age of 14, he was taken aback. He overcame insurmountable obstacles and now devotes his later years to loving and serving his local community. We should all take a moment to appreciate Stephen Lincoln’s 58 years of service to the Muddy Brook Fire Department.

He did a great job for our Engine Company and was a key member of the team. Because of his resilience, many of his fellow soldiers looked up to him as a role model. Stephen filled in as the fire department’s treasurer while the other leaders were out of town. His ability to keep costs down and steer the division steadily was important in its early success and growth. Stephen continued a decades-long tradition at the Woodstock Fair by playing bingo each day. His participation in this age-old ceremony demonstrated his commitment to protecting the cultural heritage of our community.

In recognition of his selfless work, the Muddy Brook Fire Department created the Stephen B. Lincoln Award. The outstanding team leaders among our ranks are highlighted on this page. Stephen deserves this award, but so do the other dedicated members of our fire department and the wider community. Stephen Lincoln continued the family tradition of firefighters by becoming one himself. Dylan’s grandfather was a huge admirer of Muddy Brook, so he decided to join. Dylan joins the Dayville Fire Department like his grandfather did before him.

He joined the company as a private and has since risen through the ranks to become a Lieutenant. As a leader in the Muddy Brook Fire Department, an influential member of the community, and a selfless rescuer, Stephen Lincoln is an example to follow. The firefighters of Muddy Brook and his many other pals will never forget him.

We hope that reflecting on Stephen Lincoln’s courage, fortitude, and unwavering love can ease our pain. Let us remember him by doing our part to keep our communities secure. We shall always be grateful to him for all he has done to aid our group. Stephen, we will never be able to repay you for the countless hours you’ve spent helping others.
