Robert Lutz Obituary, Death- We regret to inform you of the recent demise of Robert A. Lutz, who was respected and liked by many. His life was tragically cut short in an accident on Saturday afternoon. He had reached the age of 49. The Vanderburgh County coroner determined that Robert was driving the ATV that crashed on Saturday around 1:30 p.m. on New Harmony Rd., which is east of St. Joseph Rd. The 2021 Toyota Highlander-esque SUV crashed with the ATV.
Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office reports that the SUV, driven by an unidentified person, was trailing the ATV heading east on New Harmony Rd. prior to the collision. Because the ATV was slowing down, the SUV had to pass it on the left. A tragic accident occurred when an ATV traveling along a dirt path serving a nearby cornfield suddenly veered to the left. As a result of this horrific event, Robert’s life was cut short, and his friends and neighbors are now in despair. He had a lot of friends because of his amiability, kindness, and eagerness to try new things.
His friends and family will always remember him as someone who was committed to them and who found joy in simple things, especially the outdoors. The incident is currently being thoroughly investigated by the Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office. The sheriff’s forensics garage is currently looking into both the SUV and the ATV. Sheriff Noah Robinson said that after accidents, automobiles are subjected to thorough tests, including crush analysis, inspections of car lighting, and data extraction from the vehicle’s onboard computer.
The preliminary results of the investigation indicate that alcohol or drugs did not play a part in the crash, but more examination is still necessary. The investigation itself will provide useful information, allowing for a fuller comprehension of the events leading up to the tragedy. Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers as you mourn Robert’s passing and face the difficult days ahead. I hope that the happy times they shared with Robert A. Lutz can bring them closer together and give them the strength to move forward. I hope he finally gets to rest in peace.
