Murray Savar Obituary, Philadelphia PA, The Agnes Irwin School Teacher Has Passed Away

Murray Savar Obituary, Death – Our deepest condolences go out to Murray Savar’s family and friends on his untimely passing. In addition to being one of Seán’s closest confidants, he was a beloved companion to many. Since 2009, Murray has devotedly managed this page, tending to the needs of our community with his time and attention. He has shown incredible bravery over the past seven months as he has fought off illness. The world is a darker place without him, and we wish the best for his loved ones in this difficult time.

Murray’s impact was not limited to the online world. He was an inspiration to the students of The Agnes Irwin School for 47 years. Our dear family friend Victoria was one of the many students who benefited from his dedication to music and his skill as a teacher. Murray was one of those rare people who could motivate and encourage anyone he met. His passion for teaching and his ability to share that enthusiasm with his students and colleagues will long be remembered.

Sally Keidel, the school’s head, said it best when she reflected on his legacy: “Murray was a gifted educator.” His classroom exemplified the ideal setting for which Agnes Irwin strives: one in which girls feel safe, valued, and encouraged to reach their full potential. When he entered a room, it immediately became alive with song and laughter. In 2020, Murray reflected on his extraordinary career at Agnes Irwin, and in doing so, he shared his profound admiration for the alumnae.

He valued the enthusiasm and sense of accomplishment shared by all Agnes Irwin alums. Despite the limitations of language, we would like to thank Mr. Savar for the immense influence he has had on our lives. The lives he touched will never be the same, and his legacy will live on in the halls of Agnes Irwin. Have a peaceful rest, Murray. Those who were lucky enough to have known you will miss you dearly, but they will always carry your memory with them.
