Marty Colclasure Obituary, Death – On Saturday, October 28, 2023, Martin Paul Colclasure passed away. Holley and Hayden, his children; John, his brother; and Marsha, his mother. His dad, John H. Colclasure, passed away before he was born. For those who knew Marty, the amount of praise for his character would fill a book, let alone a few words. He went to Mahomet-Seymour High School after spending his formative years in the town.
After finishing up at Parkland, he enlisted in the University of Illinois’ electrical service. Like a tree’s roots, his influence spread far and wide in his community and touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with. And Marty was employed. He was thoughtful, deliberate, focused, patient, and generous. He had the utmost respect for his parents and an even deeper love for his children. He was obedient to God and a joy to be around because of his humour, kindness, and generosity.
For an incredible eight years, he fought neuroendocrine pancreatic cancer. Marty remained strong and supportive of his family and those who knew him during this time. His body succumbed to illness, but not his spirit. Saturday, the night of the 28th, at the end of his time on this Earth, he was surrounded by friends and family. Because of Marty’s selfless generosity, the room was brimming with affection.
The loss of Marty is devastating. Visitation will be held on November 11 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Mahomet Christian Church, located at 908 N. Lake of the Woods Road in Mahomet. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mahomet Christian Church or Little Galilee Christian Camp and Retreat Centre, both located at 7539 Little Galilee Road, Clinton, Illinois 61727.
