Laureen Goettel Obituary, Death- On behalf of the Cicero American Legion Auxiliary, I’d like to extend our sincere sympathies to Laureen Goettel’s family and friends. Our spirits are low as we make this decision. We are thinking of you and sending positive vibes during this difficult time. Laureen was a beloved member of the James H. Spire Unit 787 of the American Legion Auxiliary, and her passing has left all of us feeling a big void.
Laureen Goettel’s lifelong commitment to the American Legion Auxiliary is truly extraordinary. Her dedication to the group was unwavering during her time there. Laureen Goettel was such a dedicated member of our community that she was awarded life membership status. Everyone who had the honor of knowing her was moved to do something good because of her selfless commitment to helping others and advocating on behalf of our country’s soldiers.
A powerful legacy of love, compassion, and commitment to the American Legion Auxiliary’s ideals is what Laureen left behind when she passed away on October 31, 2023. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary for many years. Her infectious laugh, selfless nature, and unrelenting drive to improve the lives of people she came in contact with will live on in our memories forever. Everyone will miss her terribly. She was an excellent representative of the standards we hold dear as a firm, and she served as an excellent example of those standards.
We, the women of the Cicero American Legion Auxiliary, would like to take this time to thank Laureen for everything that she has done for our town and for all the people whose lives she has touched. Laureen had a profound effect on the people whose lives she was allowed to touch. She leaves a vacuum that will never be filled, but her memory will continue to inspire us long after she is gone as we carry on her legacy of love and dedication to others.
Her passing has left a gaping hole in our lives. Forever and always, Laureen, you will be remembered with great affection by each and every one of us. Our love for you is eternal, and there will always be a particular place in our hearts for you.
