Jose Valdez Obituary, Death- Our deepest sympathies go out to the family and friends of Jose Luis “Nino” Valdez, who passed away in Laredo, Texas on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. It is with great sadness that we must make this announcement. Mr. Valdez was a committed Laredo, Texas, local whose life was distinguished by his warmheartedness, generosity, and steadfast devotion to his friends and family. Despite being born in Chicago Heights, Mr. Valdez has lived the vast bulk of his life in Texas.
Nino’s high school years were marked by his remarkable attitude and dedication as a member of the Martin High School Tigers football team. He went on to excel academically at Martin High School, where he was named valedictorian in 1997. His accomplishments on the field reflected the same tenacity and loyalty that distinguished him as a person. This was something he always and forever held to be true. Nino took pleasure in the little things in life and valued his relationships with his closest friends and family members above everything else.
He didn’t say much, but he was deeply committed to helping the poor. His reputation as a kind and generous soul preceded him. It was said of Nino that he had no limits on his generosity and would give the proverbial shirt off his back to anyone in need. Maintaining a healthy lifestyle was important to Nino, therefore he often engaged in physical activity. He made time in his hectic schedule for exercise, so clearly he cared about his health. A job in security allowed him to advance professionally while also allowing him to demonstrate a sense of duty and caring that was consistent with his personal beliefs.
Losing Nino, a devoted son, brother, uncle, cousin, nephew, and friend, has left a void that cannot be filled. His legacy will live on via the lives he touched and the stories his friends and family tell about the impact he had on them. As the Valdez family mourns the loss of their loved one, please know that you have our sincere sympathies and prayers. I pray that they find the comfort and strength they need from the love and support of friends and family as they make it through this tough time. Those lucky enough to have known the late Jose Luis “Nino” Valdez will remember him with great affection. May he rest in eternal peace.
