Ja’Marious Logan Obituary, Death – According to statements made by police on Friday, the body that was discovered on a farm near Sylacauga on Thursday is thought to be that of Ja’Marious Logan, a 15-year-old boy from Huntsville who had been missing for 51 days. Latorrie Gaddis, age 33, one of four suspects who have been charged in connection with Logan’s death, was apprehended in Alexander City by the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force of the United States Marshals Service.
According to Sergeant Jack Pugh, Gaddis is facing capital murder and kidnapping charges for Ja’Marious’ death. Gaddis was already being sought by Huntsville police on two separate warrants for second-degree assault that were unconnected to one another. Latoya Wells, who is 37 years old, and Corie Wilson, who is 33 years old, have both been charged with kidnapping in relation to their suspected role in the disappearance of Logan.
Deserea Pilar Cunningham, who is 34 years old and is married to Gaddis, was brought into jail on Friday afternoon in Sylacauga by local officials. She is being held on a charge of obstructing the legal process and has been placed into the Talladega County Jail. Sydney Martin, a spokeswoman for the Huntsville Police Department, stated that Cunningham will be extradited to Huntsville and put into the Madison County Jail on the charge at a later date. According to Pugh, Ja’Marious had a prior relationship with the suspects. The autopsy will take place at the state forensics lab in Montgomery, which has been given the remains to examine.
Pugh stated that dental and DNA records are also being collected in order to positively identify the body; nonetheless, the police believe that it is that of Ja’Marious.
