Jack Sawyer Obituary, Death- We are devastated to share the news of Jack Sawyer, a beloved student, dying away. Jack, who was only 17 years old when he died of cancer, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home after a long and courageous battle. His loss leaves an insurmountable hole in our lives, but we will carry his spirit of fortitude, love, and compassion with us always. Jack was an extraordinary young guy, and those who had the pleasure of knowing him will never forget his dazzling smile and kind spirit.
Jack’s 18-month battle with cancer was arduous, but he faced it with unwavering bravery and dignity that inspired everyone who saw him. His amazing resilience allowed him to persevere through every challenge of his ordeal. But Jack’s influence was felt well beyond the scope of his own experience. He had an extraordinary talent for uniting us as a group and bringing people together. A recent football game was the setting for a moving speech he delivered: Thank you for the love and support, Mentor classmates, instructors, and staff.
It was an honor to participate in this group. I’ll never stop considering myself a Card! Keep in mind that a PACE—a positive attitude may do wonders—is the key to success. The Lake County Trauma Response Team’s mental health professionals will be on hand to ensure that any grieving students receive the care and attention they deserve, and our committed guidance counselors and school psychologists will be ready to meet with children who need support.
As long as there is a demand for our assistance, we intend to keep providing it. Please don’t be shy about contacting us if you think your child could benefit from our services but are reluctant to ask for it.
