Ismael Rodriguez Obituary, Death- On October 28, a car struck and killed 69-year-old pedestrian Ismael Rodriguez on Niles Street. It has been confirmed by the Kern County Coroner’s Office that the pedestrian was in fact Rodriguez. The Bakersfield native Rodriguez. At around 10:46 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a car-versus-pedestrian crash that had been reported by concerned citizens.

The preliminary results of the CHP investigation indicate that a 42-year-old female driver was operating a 2014 Nissan eastbound on Niles Street, west of Barlow Street, in the first lane at an unspecified speed. Mr. Ismael Rodriguez was tragically killed while crossing Niles Street west of Barlow Street at night in a location without a marked crosswalk while dressed in all-dark clothing.
