At around 10:46 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was called to the scene of a car-versus-pedestrian crash that had been reported by concerned citizens.
The pedestrian apparently suffered injuries as a result of the collision. Because of the severity of the victim’s injuries, medical responders sped to the scene. The preliminary results of the CHP investigation indicate that a 42-year-old female driver was operating a 2014 Nissan eastbound on Niles Street, west of Barlow Street, in the first lane at an unspecified speed.
