Herbert Franks Obituary, Death- Herbert H. Franks, our Senior Partner and Founder, has left this world at the age of 89, and we are devastated to share the news. Herbert’s contributions to his loved ones and neighbors will be remembered fondly for years to come. Herbert was not just a hardworking and successful businessman, but also a passionate family guy who left behind many cherished relationships. He was the beloved spouse of Eileen (née Pepper), with whom he enjoyed a life of love, humor, and unwavering devotion.
The strength of their love and friendship shone through throughout their journey together. Herbert provided wisdom, leadership, and steadfast support to his three sons, David Franks, Jack Franks, and Eli Franks, throughout their lives. He enthusiastically took on the responsibility of fatherhood, and the principles he established in his offspring will long outlive him. Herbert found great happiness in being a grandfather and seeing his grandkids succeed in life.
He leaves left a legacy of love in the hearts of Kevin Crews, Samuel Franks, Henry Franks, Miriam Franks, Olivia Franks, and Joseph Franks. His influence was profound, and he will be remembered for the joy he brought and the knowledge he imparted. Herbert was a dear brother to Helen Lindow, Betty Sobelman, Judith Farah, and the late Sheldon Franks. His ties to his family were solid, and the affection they shared was unwavering.
On Friday, November 3, 2023, at 10:30 AM, Congregation Kneseth Israel, 330 Division Street, Elgin, Illinois, will host a memorial service in Herbert’s honor. Herbert will be laid to rest in Oakland Cemetery, 14307 Kishwaukee Valley Road, Woodstock, Illinois 60098, in the McHenry County Jewish Cemetery after the funeral.
Herbert’s dedication to improving the lives of others is reflected in the family’s request that, in lieu of flowers, donations be donated to Friends of the Israeli Defense Forces. Everyone who had the honor of knowing Herbert H. Franks will miss him dearly. Those who were lucky enough to have their lives changed by his compassion, wisdom, and undying love will carry his legacy forward.
