Dylan’s life was a testament to his unwavering dedication, passion for adventure, and his deep love for family and feline companions. Dylan Duggan was born on February 17, 1994, in Littleton, Colorado, to Shawn and Kimberly Watt Duggan.
He spent the majority of his life in the Richmond area, making it his home for the last 20 years. His roots ran deep in the community, and he touched the lives of many through his various pursuits and passions. Dylan’s faith was an essential part of his life, as he attended Gospel Baptist Church in New Paris, Ohio. He was a graduate of Richmond High School, class of 2012, and proudly served in the United States Air Force. His commitment to serving his country was just one example of his unwavering dedication and patriotism.
Professionally, Dylan worked as a Physical Therapist Assistant at Reid Health, where he positively impacted the lives of countless patients. His desire to further his education and make an even greater difference in the healthcare field led him to Butler University, where he was enrolled in the PA studies program as part of the class of 2024. His pursuit of knowledge and a meaningful career demonstrated his ambitious spirit and dedication to helping others.
Dylan’s zest for life was truly remarkable. He found joy in various activities, from snowboarding and mountain climbing to his passion for traveling and his love for hockey. In his leisure time, he immersed himself in video games, practicing Jiu Jitsu, and even earned his skydiving license. His adventurous spirit was an inspiration to those who knew him, and he encouraged those around him to embrace the world’s many wonders. However, Dylan’s love for adventure was matched by his deep love for family and his feline companions.
He cherished the time spent with his loved ones and shared a special bond with his beloved cats. He is survived by his mother, Kim Duggan of Richmond, and his sister, Hunter Duggan of Indianapolis. The love of his life, Kearstin Allen of Indianapolis, was a source of joy and support in his life. Dylan’s grandmother, Dixie Watt, along with his three aunts, Julie Watt, Sherry Watt, and Amy Watt, and his five cousins, Melissa, Justin, Tyler, Bailey, and Bentley, all held a special place in his heart.
Additionally, his cherished cat, Philly Boy, brought comfort and companionship. Dylan was preceded in death by his grandfather, Pastor Richard Watt, whose influence on his life was profound. He also mourned the loss of his beloved cat, Patty, a faithful and cherished companion. To honor and celebrate Dylan Duggan’s life, a “Celebration of Life” service was held on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 5:00 PM at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, with Reverend Martin Holman officiating. Friends, family, and those touched by Dylan’s vibrant spirit gathered to pay their respects and share their fond memories of this remarkable young man.
