Colette Bearder Obituary, Death- Colette Bearder, a woman known for her grace, compassion, and kindness, passed away on November 3, 2023, at the Chateau du Village nursing home. Her devoted offspring were by her side as she passed away. She was well into her senior year at age 75. Colette became a devoted mother to her four children, Lucy, Yannic, Alain, and Luke, after the death of her husband, Larry Bearder.
She was welcomed into a kind and caring family at birth, and she had a full and fruitful life until her death. She was a devoted mother who did an excellent job of establishing herself as an integral part of her children’s lives. In addition to raising her own children, Colette cherished her role as grandma to Imala, Solomon, Dylan, Tulip, Daisy, and ‘Oodis. The affectionate moniker of Nanou was bestowed upon her by her grandchildren.
Her love for her granddaughters was unbounded, and it reflected in the manner that her eyes lit up with happiness whenever she was around them. Colette represented what it means to have strong family values, and her house was always packed with love and laughter. She appreciated that Andrew, Jo, Chantelle, and Lucy were more like blood relatives than in-laws to her. She greeted them with wide arms when they came to meet her family.
She was a respected member of the family not just because of her sibling and aunt roles, but because of her capacity to love and care for others. On Monday, November 20 at 11 a.m., there will be a memorial ceremony held at St. Martin’s Parish Hall in honor of Colette. Those who were fortunate enough to have crossed paths with Colette will be honored at the meeting. Everyone who knew and loved Colette and had any part in her life is invited to this celebration in her honor.
If you’d like to make a donation in lieu of flowers, you can send it to The Guernsey Society for Cancer Relief at Meldrum Way, Braye Road, Vale GY3 5PR (care of Mrs. S. Butler). After her death, Colette requested a private cremation. Those who were lucky enough to know and love her will always keep her spirit alive in their hearts. I pray that she has found Larry again and is looking down on her beloved family from heaven, where she is at peace at last.
