Chelsea Danielle Obituary, Death – Chelsea Nicholes, a shining star in the close-knit community of Ely, NV, bid farewell to this world on October 31, 2023, alongside her husband Cody Nicholes. Born on May 3, 1982, Chelsea touched the lives of many as a daughter, sister, niece, mother, and aunt. From her early days at White Pine High School, where she excelled in volleyball, softball, and basketball, to earning her Bachelor’s degree in Business Management Human Resources at the University of Nevada Reno, Chelsea’s journey was one of dedication and achievement.
Her career path led her through the halls of Sands Hotel & Casino in Reno, and later to a 13-year tenure as the Human Resources Manager at Torchmate. In June of 2020, Chelsea and Cody realized their dream of returning to their hometown of Ely, where Cody joined the United States Forest Service, and Chelsea took on the role of Human Resource Manager with KGHM International Ltd. The love story of Chelsea and Cody, sealed on July 24, 2010, at the Freight Barn in Ely, unfolded with the arrival of three wonderful children: Cason, Cole, and Caydence.
Chelsea and Cody were their children’s biggest fans, coaching them through various sports and instilling in them a love for the Utah Jazz and the Dallas Cowboys. Beyond her immediate family, Chelsea’s heart of gold extended to her nieces and nephews, becoming a second mother to Kylie, Jacob, Madison, Bodie, and Ivie. Her warm spirit and friendship touched the lives of everyone she met, leaving an indelible mark. Chelsea is survived by her children, father Lyle Norcross, brothers Cameron and Casey, and their respective families.
She joins her late mother Debra Norcross, sister Courtney, and her grandparents LaRoy & Beth Ross and Johnnie & Geneva Norcross in eternal rest. A memorial service to celebrate Chelsea’s life will be held on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at 11 am at White Pine County High School, with a gathering to follow at the Bristlecone Convention Center. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to First National Bank and Trust in Memory of Cody and Chelsea Nicholes.
