Bethany Bagwell Obituary, Death – Somerset, Kentucky – On Friday, November 10, 2023, Somerset lost a cherished member of its community as Bethany Nicole Bagwell, age 38, passed away at her home. Born on July 16, 1985, to Susan M. Held Garrett and Kenneth Bagwell in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Bethany’s life was a tapestry of love, family, and cherished moments. Bethany was a proud mother, a loyal friend to everyone who had the privilege of knowing her, an avid animal lover, and found joy in the simple pleasures of life, such as reading and spending time at the water park, indulging in her love for swimming.
Her spirit was marked by an unwavering enthusiasm for life and an infectious positivity that touched all those around her. Raised in a loving family, Bethany attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and began her educational journey at Western Kentucky University, where she spent three formative years. Her pursuits reflected her curiosity and dedication to personal growth. Bethany’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of her family and friends, but her memory will be forever cherished.
She is survived by her parents, Susan Garrett (Rudy) of Somerset, KY, and Kenneth Bagwell (Natalie) of Franklin, KY; her son, Zachary Martin Reynolds; her daughter, Brianna Nicole Reynolds; her grandfather, Dr. Richard Held of Somerset, KY; her sister, Andrea Renee Smith (Mike) of Somerset, KY; her stepsister, Jill Buckley of Simpsonville, SC; her stepbrother, Shawn Killen of Franklin, KY; her uncle, Rick Held (Michelle) of Sarasota, FL; her aunt, Sharon Howard (Scott) of Lexington, KY; her aunt, Pamela Held of Somerset, KY; her niece, Garrah Paige Vanover of Somerset, KY; her great-aunt, Della Stancil Rose of Rockledge, FL, along with numerous cousins and friends.
Bethany is preceded in death by her grandmother, Stella Clara Stancil Held; her grandparents, Luther and Geneva Bagwell; her step-grandparents, Carl and Wanda Garrett; and her aunt, Vicki Susan Bagwell. Friends and family are invited to celebrate Bethany’s life during the visitation scheduled for Tuesday, November 14, 2023, at 12 pm in the Chapel of the Southern Oaks Funeral Home. The funeral service, officiated by Bro. Chris Jasper and Bro. Danny Rowland, will commence at 3 pm, followed by burial at the Southern Oaks Cemetery.
