Anthony Mallory Obituary, Death- It is with profound grief and heavy hearts that we announce the demise of Anthony Eugene Mallory, a victim of a devastating multi-vehicle incident on Interstate 80 in Mercer County. Anthony, aged 34, originating from Rochester, New York, lost his life on a fateful Wednesday. On that fateful day, Anthony was a passenger in one of the vehicles involved in a collision involving multiple cars and trucks on Interstate 80 around mile marker 14.
The tragic event resulted in the deaths of several people and the injury of many more. Between eight and ten vehicles collided, sending shockwaves through the neighborhood. In the midst of this horrible event, Anthony lost his life, leaving behind a hole in his family and friends’ hearts that will never be filled. His identification was confirmed by the Mercer County Coroner, and now we can all grieve for the loss of a young, talented, and beloved member of our community.
The incident caused the closure of Route 19 in Mercer County between the Interstate 376 eastbound interchange and Exit 15. The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation has issued a warning to drivers on I-80 westbound and other nearby roads, including Route 62 and Route 318, due to traffic delays. It was still unclear when the route would be reopened. The Mercer County Coroner and many fire agencies rushed to the scene early that Wednesday morning to provide whatever help and comfort they could during the tragic event.
